Many of us myself included are doing our best in this modern world of fast pace living. We shop at Walmart and target because it’s convenient. We buy prepackaged foods and already cooked meals because it’s convenient. We buy bread and produce that we barely wash from the closest market because it’s within our reach! We also have a different scented glade plug-in, potpourri dish, candle or scented car pod in every place we can stick them. We use non stick cookware plastic water bottles and plastic containers for left-overs. We clean with scented products and buy extra beads for our washer to boost the scent of the laundry.
We are all just living blindly and trying to make it through this fast paced world unwittingly subjecting ourselves to the harm that our trusted companies and governments have produced and provided us with.
Lots of information has come out lately about parabens, pfas, sulfates, phthalates and bpa. Most of these products that we use are coated or manufactured with ingredients that are known carcinogens.
Have you read or heard talk of the “dirty dozen” or “clean 15“?
This is our precious produce! The very thing we nourish our bodies with to help us be healthier. Please look these things up please educate!
These things are scary! These products are ubiquitous making it hard to choose healthy. Becoming aware of these toxins and their prevalence and pushing for better products and honest certifications are important!
Knowledge is power!! It’s our only defense in this modern world!
I for one am slowly replacing products in my house! Sourcing more healthy options. Eating out less and cooking in more! Buying from farmers markets and cooking from scratch as much as I can. Because when the day ends nothing is convenient about getting the wool pulled over our eyes, nothing is convenient about being sick and not healthy and nothing is convenient about cancer!
Start living mindfully, start asking your self and others hard questions. Start spreading the word about these hidden hazards and helping us all be safer. At the end of the day it’s really up to us to keep our family healthy and that is empowering!
