As a little girl I wanted to be a chemist or wizard! Someone who could whip up remedies and potions! I remember as a child collecting flowers and leaves and concocting brews and teas! Mud pies, salads and flower water were my specialty!

As I got older, at school we learned of witches and the use of folk medicine and how our ancestors used things that grew in the wild to heal. Making tinctures, poultices and salves was used in medicine!
I of course was mesmerized by this as it spoke to my childhood wonderment.
As an adult I became interested in gardening and cooking. Using fresh herbs and local honey to make savory or sweet treats to comfort a stressful day! The ways of the Kitchen witchery started blooming.
It wasn’t until recently however that I came upon all the literature on herbs and berries and all the benefits of wild crafting!
Oh how my childhood whimsy had returned ten fold with all my new knowledge! I wish I had been privy to all this knowledge as a child growing up in the country. Oh the things I could have concocted! I can only imagine how much further my interest and imagination would have taken me!
Where has your childhood imagination taken you?
